I think I'm going to stop playing these online poker sites.
PartyPoker, PokerRoom, Bet365 etc ... :finger:

I can't take this shit anymore. How many more times am I going to sit and watch player after player hitting cards on the F'In River!

I wouldnt be pissed off at all, if I got outplayed. But 95% of the hands that I lose are because, these guys are getting that one miracle card on the river.

Happens all the time. Player needs 1 of 2 cards in the deck & he F'in Get's It!

I play tournament's 99% of the time.
Does this shit happen in the Ring Games too ?

Play enough live and you will take horrific beats as well. I find the best remedy is to take a break from it every now and then, sit back and evaluate your game and your goals.

Online is certainly not for everyone.

I play mostly SnG's, but I've been playing more and more ring games lately. I think the difference--at least in the $10/1 SnG's that I frequent on PP--is that NOBODY folds a hand in these SnGs. There is a lot more opportunity to hit a river card because NOBODY folds. It's a little different in ring games--the better cards and the better plays usually hold up.

Again, my experience. Others may vary slightly.

partypoker

i have played alot over a months period at party poker

one thing i notice is that certain players no matter what cards they hold win the larger pots.

that the river card suits there hand and theres nothing i can do to upset the rhythm because they never fold

if i have a flush they have a straight flush if i have a full house they have a higher full house.

the higher the pot goes the less chance i have to win

you like to think that you not playing a program but sometimes i think they must be the way the hands play out- they seem to be betting with perfect knowledge of what i have and whats coming out

It happens everywhere, look at what Hanson beat out Chan with...the river paired him up to Chans pocket pair.

Poker is skillful. Poker is lucky.

Skillful: What kind of pots odds are your opponents getting when they hit their "miracle cards"? Were they betting/raising their outs the whole way (huge pots)? If so, how many players where in the hand? It might be the right move...

Lucky: Weak/loose players calling to the river with pocket 7s and hit a set at the very end? Nothing can be done in that case, but if your game is better, you will beat these players in the long run.

These sites are legit. I have friends who make more $$$ playing these sites for a living than I do at my job (and I'm a professional).

Maybe you've hit a bad run, but maybe you need to work on your game. Either way, tilt is your worse enemy.

Reading some books could help. I have my top five listed here (bottom of the page) http://www.howtogamble.net/texas_holdem.htm

If the link gets cut they are:

The Theory of Poker- David Sklansky

It's also important to note that swings are greater online do to the more hands you see per hour and most people playing above their limits.

my 2 cents

funny thing....u never hear matt complaining about badbeats yet i am 100% sure that he takes the worst of all of us because he plays a bunch....before i used to play a bunch online i used to get upset when i lose with AK to AQ or AA to 55 or something but now its just normal for me.....i get lucky too and thats over 10-15 thousand hands a week

we tend to forget the times we get lucky and only remember when we lose on a rivered three outer so before u claim itsrigged analyze ur own play and see where you are making mistakes cuz we all make them and unless u can learn from them you will keep losing

its kinda like horses for courses..i just don't think on line is for me...just like some here simply play one sport or another and excell...i do keep fairly in depth records and...if played...would have made ONE FLUSH for suited pocket in 194 opportunities..so i accept the losses what ever you wish to call them...

no..play nl 20 + 2...not the amount of times in the pot...just the amount of times i would not have gotten the flush...yes sometimes not seeing the river...i understand...but of those 194 times or so nearly 102 times the board was not in my favor of flushing...in other words flop never developed 2 more same suit cards...and i would not play turn and river into flush on 3 cards except on occasion of high pair and minimal action indicating (usually) little power in opponets hands...

If you can't take the swings in tourny play, switch to ring games. You can control the swings if you are willing to lay down the best hand from time to time without being penalized by rising blinds.

The beats in live play are just as bad as online, you just see many more hands per hour so it intensifies the pain. There is no argument here. Online play generally is the better deal considering rake and the amount of hands you get per tourny. The big sites are legit, the players on the sites might be cheating but the sites are not. If you dispute this you are just wrong and embarrassing yourself by blaming the site for your bad luck/bad play.

luke...i don't think the "big sites" are fixed...they don't need to be given the profit thats rollin in...as for the players themselves...you bet and that is also why i have gone cold with online play
